[Dan Feng immediately jumps her the moment the door breaks, tackling her into the… deck…?

The room she’s in apparently opens into a small courtyard, lifted from it by a wooden deck. Dan Feng is wearing her clothes - the scarf in question, one of her overcoats around his elbows, and one of her socks (?) as a hand warmer (?)]

just kind of stares out at the courtyard, baffled, then back to him--

and puffs with indignation. ]

Take them off!

[Naturally Dan Feng does not do what she wants and leans in to kiss her stupid instead. He smells like wood smoke and herbs for some reason, and there's a smudge of soot across his jaw.]

[ ah,

She makes an irritated noise, but she's dizzy and disoriented and his smell is different enough that it gives her pause and--

She pushes at his shoulders, after a moment, to tilt her head away. ]

Dan Feng--

[There's a loud crash over one of the walls, and a yell, which distinctly sounds like Yingxing. Then the sound of hammering.

Dan Feng twitches, but he doesn't look away from her, opting to bury his face in her hair instead.]

[ Wh... She blinks, bleary, and loosens her grip on his shoulders, trying to shift a little under him to look out into the courtyard. ]

... Where am I?

It's our new nest! Heng'er wanted a bigger place. I think he will make dinner later. Do you like peanuts?

[ exhales slowly. ]

Why did you-- you could have just asked me to visit. Take my clothes off before you rip them. Peanuts are fine.

Visit? Why would you need to visit your own estate?

[ a long, confused pause. ]

[His braincells are visibly loading.]

[ shifts her hands up to rub her eyes. ]

[There's a pause, and Dan Feng moves away, sitting on his haunches. On a lesser man, it would be called shrinking away.]

[ slowly pushes herself up to sit,swaying a little, her face a bit flustered. ]

Her cheeks darken, and she looks away for a moment, her feathers fluffing. ]
