May. 21st, 2024 03:12 amDan Feng, as an Emanator of the Abundance - someone who has been personally blessed by his canon's god of life and fertility - has a body that is essentially a generic panacea. Consuming any amount of his bodily fluids or flesh, or absorbing something of him, can heal a great many things, with the extent of his active healing.
However, the price of this is that there is a chance that whatever partakes of him will be inflicted with mara - basically space dementia brain worms, with a side effect of growing ginkgo branches and extreme bodily disfiguration (some of the afflicted have merged into the armor they have been wearing when they were afflicted).
In his canon, he uses this as a weapon; his tears can be poisonous, a simple kiss can be drugging, and penetrative sex is almost always lethal, or worse. Dan Feng cannot control this aspect of himself, and is well aware of the consequences of this.
RP wise, this mara has reduced or no effect on chars with healing, regeneration, or immortality. It can also be temporary, and downgraded. You can also have your char not affected at all! We can chalk it up to the vastness of the universe.
The minimum effect of the mara he inflicts is disorientation, and a slow, creeping feeling of losing yourself, subsumed in negative memories. Movement will feel sticky and cloying. You may find yourself coughing up ginkgo leaves.
